KSA #4: Use general and discipline-specific software for state-of-the-practice business applications [Technology]

Overview
I chose this KSA because I am able to quickly learn how to use new software and computer programs. Before entering college, i had an innate ability to use technological devices. Now that I have taken business courses and worked as an intern, I have been able to apply this natural ability and build upon it. Many of my friends and family come to me for technology issues that they have, and usually I can solve these issues. This is an accomplishment to me because I am able to help others and complete tasks more efficiently through technology. I considered this skill while thinking about my future career path. This is why I am most interested in pursuing e-business or social media marketing. I believe that employers can benefit from my technology skills, which I plan to improve, along with my passion for technology.
General Software:
Microsoft Office Excel, Powerpoint and Sharepoint
Throughout my college career i have utilized many computer programs in order to organize, analyze and present information. In EBTM365, which is Operations Management, I did a Pareto analysis on information that was given to me. This includes charts and graphs which visualize the defects that an operations department may incur over time. In EBTM305, Project Management and Business Decisions, I performed a decision making analysis using a decision tree. This includes determining expected values of decisions based on probability as well as decisions. Powerpoint is also a commonly used program for presentations. Although it is common, most people use it ineffectively. In the BUSX301, or Business Cornerstone, course I learned how to create presentations that are both visually appealing and informational. Additionally, In EBTM311, Principles of E-business, I used Microsoft Sharepoint Designer to create a website for a mock company.

Specific Software: Move Magic
Professionally, I used specific software for business practices at my internship at Liberty Moving & Storage in Commack, New York. The software that the company uses is called Move Magic. It has many capabilities such as, dispatching, planning trips, driver and mover logs, warehousing, storage billing and many others. As an Operations Intern, I used this software on a daily basis without any prior eperience. I quickly learned how to use the software and even learned how to perform tasks that were beyond my job description. This is a reflection on my natural technological skills.
